The War Wagon rests upon a vintage 1917 Army Cavalry Tack
Locker. That is a LOACH tailrotor blade. Notice that the rope on one leg is different than the
others, a bastard in honor of the "Bastard CAV."

The horseshoes remind of our roots in the old horse Cavalry.

The War Wagon sits on a cavalry pennant.
Although the piece is dedicated to War Wagon 14, I feel it
belongs to all former War Wagons.

The War Wagon is made of 100 year old barn roof metal. Don Mong, the artist, spent hours viewing the movie, "The
War Wagon."
He stopped and started the movie many times so he could
accurately reconstruct the wagon. The Gatling gun is made of pencils.

Don restored my flight helmet several years ago and he thought
it was fitting to add this symbol to to rear of the
War Wagon.
The same symbol appears on the back of my helmet.
The helmet on which Don Mong did
the amazing restoration several years ago.
He had to meticulously work his way down through about five
different layers of paint.
It now resides with curator Mr John Conway and is included on
the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association Virtual museum
website. Link

The camouflaged, Air Force, Dual Visor helmet that I wore

One of the cute little Flight Nurses I flew with in
Orlando once asked me if that was the Space Shuttle! :-)
A plug for the Holiday Inn where the reunion was
held. I hope to see you there next year!
