Jeffrey "Bullfrog" Van Buren, age 72, of Cadiz,
Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023,
at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Born May 3, 1950, in Cooperstown, New York, he was the son of
the late Ford and Christine (Grigsby) Van Buren.
A veteran of the United States Army, he fought in the Vietnam
War where his bravery was recognized with the Purple Heart and
Bronze Star.
He had worked as a manager for U.S. Steel and Bethlehem Steel
in Gary, Indiana. He enjoyed going golfing, fishing, hunting,
and car collecting. Mr. Van Buren was known for his random
acts of kindness.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
brother, Michael F. Van Buren and twin sister, Janet Van
Buren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gayle Van Buren of
Cadiz; son, Scott Van Buren of Nashville, Tenn.; and sister,
"Jude" Van Buren of Brooksville, Fla.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138
Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends
from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m., Friday,
March 3, 2023. Interment with full military honors will follow
at 2:00 p.m. in Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West in
Hopkinsville.
