“Little Annie”

It is with great pleasure I send you this photo.
My name is Phillip (Allen) DeCook. I was with the 3/5th Cav. until 1/31/68 in A Troop, 2nd Platoon.

The photo was taken at Bear Cat probably about November 1967.
At that time D Troop was located just behind our Orderly Room.  We were in for five days of maintenance and reissue of equipment. I had just gotten a new camera and was shooting everything so I don’t know too much about the Huey except for the fact I had seen it in the field a lot bringing us supplyies and such.

I’m still looking for more pictures of that time.
I also remember another Huey up on the main strip named “Stump Jumper” that had a picture on the nose of the "Playboy" magazine cartoon character, “Little Annie Fannie”. A picture of that one is in a book I have and I’m looking for another book that also has “Little Annie Fannie” in it.

May I say thanks to all of D Troop for all the help you guys gave us over there.

Your B.I.A.
Allen
